There are quite a lot of people out there who sort of doubt the computing capabilities provided by AMD's new Fusion APUs, but it seems that, as far as MMORPGs are concerned, the APU behaves just fine.

So, according to a report by Netbooknews, it seems that one of the most recent portable computing systems built on the dual-core E-350 Fusion APU (Zacate platform), namely the HP DM1Z, is fully capable of running one of the world's best-known online RPG games, World of Warcraft.

The report is based on a video posted on YouTube (that you'll find embedded at the end of this article), portraying the aforementioned famous MMORPG title running on HP's 11.6-inch netbook and posted by an user called mannobot.

As you can see from this video, the game runs quite smoothly, even when the character engages in combat situations, and although the graphics details are not that visible from the video, mannobot does point out that the used resolution is 800 x 600 pixels and that detail levels are set to high.

Of course, it's also important to mention that, beside the dual-core AMD Fusion E-350 APU running at 1.6 Ghz, the system from HP also packs 3GB of RAM memory and a 320GB HDD, which might explain the game's very good behavior.

To be perfectly honest, we're extremely pleased with the way Wow runs on this platform, and we're pretty sure that this is a very good piece of news for customers, game developers, computer manufacturers and AMD alike.

Practically, it's becoming quite clear that machines built on the latest APUs are fully capable of running some of the world's most popular games, while in the same time having a price point that typically undercuts that of rival solutions, a fact that many would-be customers will most certainly find to be extremely interesting.
