World of Warcraft, the world's most popular and most successful Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, will receive patch 4.0.1 today, which will add quite a lot of new things ahead of the launch of the new expansion, Cataclysm.

World of Warcraft is the most popular game in the world, announcing recently that it has reached over 12 million paying subscribers, roughly the size of Belgium, all spending time in the virtual realm of Azeroth.

Now, the game will be patched once more, with the 4.0.1 update, which will add things like class changes and updates, an improved glyph system, and a new reforging system in order to change stats for specific items.

Patch 4.0.1 will bring about major changes to all World of Warcraft character classes, including sweeping talent tree revamps, altered spells, and improved abilities for all the main classes like Death Knights, Druids, Hunters, Paladins, Warlocks or Warriors.

The glyph system will also be overhauled, with a host of changes including the addition of a new glyph tier, the transition of glyphs from consumable items to permanent spells, and a more streamlined user interface.

Reforging will also be introduced by WoW patch 4.0.1, as players can finally be able to change the stats of their items to something better suited to their specific character, and not just sell them off to others.

A new guild cap will be enforced by this new update, with the maximum number of players in a single guild being limited to 1,000.

If your guild has under that amount, you will be able to invite more people, if it is already over that, you can continue to play together, but you won't be able to invite others to join until you drop below 1,000 members.

Basically, World of Warcraft patch 4.0.1 brings all of the changes in preparation for the upcoming expansion, Cataclysm, which will hit on December 7 around the world.

If you want to back as soon as possible to Azeroth, Blizzard advises you to turn on your background downloader, and says that the patching process will conclude around 12:01 PM PDT.
