Verzio, a Singapore-based computing, communications and consumer electronics brand, released Verzio Duplii and Verzio Twinn, two new one-of-a-kind handsets. Verzio Duplii is the world's first 3G dual-SIM tri-band mobile phone, while Verzio Twinn is the world's first EDGE / E-GPRS tri-band dual SIM phone.

The first model, Verzio Duplii, besides offering 3G and tri-band capabilities, can use two SIM cards simultaneously, meaning users can make calls from any of the SIM cards with ease.

Measuring 105 x 50 x 18 millimeters and weighing 110 grams, Duplii offers a nice 2.2 inch 262k TFT display with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution, a 2.0 Megapixel camera, microSD card support, WAP, Bluetooth, music player and FM radio. The phone uses a Qualcomm and Philips platform, enabling minimal power consumption, and its PC Sync capability allows full data synchronization. Verzio Duplii can provide a talk time of up to 3 hours, a video conference time of up to 2 hours and a stand-by time of 195 hours.

Verzio Twinn, the second handset launched by the Singapore brand, is the first EDGE / E-GPRS tri-band dual-SIM phone that comes in a slider form. It's a bit thicker than Verzio Duplii and has a 2.2 inch display with a 144 x 176 pixel resolution and touch-screen functionality. As the Duplii model, Twinn offers Bluetooth connectivity, microSD card support, it is PC Sync capable, it has a camera (unfortunately only a 1.3 Megapixel one) and its agenda can store 1,000 names and 3,000 numbers.

Verzio Duplii and Verzio Twinn are currently available only in Philippines for about $350 (Duplii) and $280 (Twinn). Both phones will be released in other Asian countries at the beginning of 2008 and we hope that Europe and US will also follow.
