Personal trainer reveals singer's workout, eating habits

Without a single doubt, one of the best dressed ladies at the Grammys 2012 was Rihanna. Rocking a very revealing yet extremely elegant Armani gown, the singer showed off her toned figure on the red carpet – and here are some tips on how you too can look as good.

The “You Da One” hitmaker has always been in incredible shape, mostly because she is fond of various outdoors activities like swimming and hiking.

Still, it's as if she never looked as good as she did on the red carpet over the weekend.

Her personal trainer Harley Pasternak, creator of the 5-Factor program and trainer to the stars, tells People magazine that RiRi has been increasing her workouts – and never goes without exercise for too long.

When she's on tour, Pasternak makes sure that Rihanna gets at least 25 minutes worth of exercise three times a week, combining cardio with strength training.

Of course, the pop star is lucky she's already in excellent shape, so she can afford to focus solely on maintenance.

“She's got such a beautiful body naturally. With someone like her, it's about the fine tuning,” her trainer says for the celebrity publication.

When Rihanna takes a break from touring and settles somewhere for longer periods, her workout routine also changes: more cardio and more weekly sessions.

“She's been really focused and stepped it up, increasing her sessions to five days a week and bumping her cardio to a total of 30 minutes a day from 10,” Pasternak tells People.

“Biking or cycling are part of her regular cardio routine, as well as exercises like jumping rope without a rope, stationary jogging and jumping jacks,” the celebrity magazine writes.

All of these are exercises Rihanna does in her hotel room or even backstage at her shows. She never takes a complete break from exercising even if she's away on vacation, something that her Twitter followers must already know.

Of course, because such an incredible figure can't possibly be the result of just a lot of exercise, Rihanna also makes sure she eats healthy.

Usually, she tries to limit herself to 5 small meals a day but she does have moments when she gets “salty cravings,” which Pasternak tries to keep under control with his very own snacks.

“She looks amazing. She keeps getting better and better!” he gushes about his celebrity client.
