The release candidate for WordPress 3.2 has been made available. The blogging software is almost close to completion, in theory it should be ready for the final release, but in practice issues creep up in the release candidate stage as well.

If you're interested in seeing what WordPress 3.2 has in store for your blog or if you want to help the developers during this last push, you can grab WordPress 3.2 RC1 and set it loose on a testing blog.

Unless, of course, you have big faith in the WordPress developers or you're feeling especially lucky and want to upgrade your site faster than everyone.

"The first release candidate (RC1) for WordPress 3.2 is now available. An RC comes after the beta period and before final release," developer Andrew Nacin announced.

"We think we’re done, but with tens of millions of users, a variety of configurations, and thousands of plugins, it’s possible we’ve missed something. So if you haven’t tested WordPress 3.2 yet, now is the time! Please though, not on your live site unless you’re extra adventurous," he warned.

The remaining blogs have been fixed so it's a good a time as any to make sure that your themes and add-ons work with the latest version and fix any issues before the final release.

WordPress also warns that the Twenty Eleven theme, which is making its debut in WordPress 3.2 is not yet ready for the lime light and there may still be some issues with it.

The plan has been to have WordPress 3.2 out the door by the end of this month, but the announcement didn't provide any update on this. Initially, release candidate versions were supposed to start being available earlier in the month, but if things go smoothly, WordPress 3.2 may still be released by the end of June.
