Olga Kurylenko has reportedly auditioned for the role of Wonder Woman in “Man of Steel 2”

So much for the rumor that “Thor” actress Jaimie Alexander was up for the role of Wonder Woman in the upcoming “Batman vs. Superman,” the sequel to Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel.” A shortlist has emerged online and Alexander is nowhere near on it.

But Olga Kurylenko is, trade publication Variety reports, as also are Gal Gadot from “Fast and Furious” and Elodie Yung from “G.I. Joe: Retaliation.”

“Sources stress there’s still a possibility this role could be Bruce Wayne’s love interest, but the casting description of ‘tall, brunette, athletic and exotic’ also matches that of the Wonder Woman character in the comics,” Variety says.

Over the weekend, word got out that Warner Bros. was looking to bring Wonder Woman with Batman in the second Superman film, perhaps as a means to introduce her to larger audiences before she got her own film franchise.

Of the names now being thrown in the mix, Kurylenko is the only one who is believed to have already auditioned, so she’s your safest bet at this point in the negotiations.

Of course, I might as well point out that Warners isn’t even commenting on the Wonder Woman rumor but, if you remember, before the studio confirmed Batman’s appearance in “Man of Steel 2,” the blogosphere had been buzzing with such reports about it for weeks. Which is to say, there’s never smoke without a fire.
