When she had her heart broken by her ex-husband, 49-year-old Amanda Brignall didn’t just get one tattoo to chase away the blues, she got 80 percent of her body covered in ink. She now says that her extensive body art is what’s keeping the men away.

In a recent interview with Barcroft Media, the mother of two admits that she gets a lot of stares and even bullying for her unconventional look, and she even believes it’s making men too scared to ask her out.

You can see the interview embedded below, at the end of this post.

Amanda lives in Beverley, Yorkshire, and is often called “the freak of Beverly.” She hasn’t had a date in 7 years and she’s now using a tattoos-lovers dating website in the hope that she will find her special someone.

Even though her extensive body art seems to have brought her so much grief already, she says she doesn’t regret any of it.

Moreover, she believes that the men who are turned away by her tattoos aren’t even worthy of her attention because they would never accept her for who she is.

“I love my tattoos but men don’t seem to feel the same. My appearance seems to scare them off. I think when men first look at me, they think I’m a bit rough. They mutter ‘look at the state of her’ under their breath. They don’t bother to get to know me,” she says.

By not moving past her tattoos, they also let her know that, for them, who she is on the inside doesn’t even matter all that much.

Amanda’s two sons also have tattoos but, while one counts over 40 and plans to get more, the other says he only has one, done out of curiosity.
