The killing of a woman at a Costco location in Sterling, Loudoun County, Virginia has prompted a press conference by local police.

Sheriff Mike Chapman tells the press that preliminary reports revealed that Mhai Scott was carrying a knife and she was planning on using it to harm police officers.

He notes that two deputies responded to the scene after being called in by Costco employees. The victim was also a worker at the store.

However, she was not employed directly by Costco, the Christian Post details. She was serving pizza as part of her job with Club Demonstration Services, a Costco contractor.

As I mentioned earlier, she became confrontational and mentioned the number of servings in the pizza box before grabbing a knife and threatening staffers with it.

Witnesses have described hearing 5 to 6 shots being fired by police. A deputy was also injured when a bullet ricocheted, but the suspect did not have firearms on her.
