A woman from Vancouver decided to take justice into her own hands when her bike got stolen.

She was told by a friend that a bicycle looking just like her was being sold on Craigslist. According to Gawker, she called the police right away and she was told that a report has been filed.

She was bound to wait for a phone call at an unspecified time. She has been warned about the fact that she might not get the call the same day.

Worried that it would be sold by then, she contacted the Craigslist vendor and asked to see it in a bid to purchase it. She met him in a McDonald's parking lot and asked to take it for a ride.

"I asked the guy if I could take it for a ride around the parking lot. He was weary and said 'yeah but don’t take off…' I said not to worry that I would even think of it!" she recalls.

She knew it was her bike right after laying eyes on it and she just drove on, calling a friend with a car. She described that the man looked for her for a short while, then disappeared.

"As I was riding away, I called my friend who was driving to meet me as backup. I rode to the adjacent parking lot where she was pulling into as I was riding. We watched the guy start to look for me and he got super freaked out and he suddenly just took off running," she adds.

She then contacted the bike shop and confirmed that the serial number on the stolen bike matched hers.

The robbery victim warns via a Facebook post that he is also selling other equipment, even giving out his name and phone number.
