Not long ago, authorities in Mississippi arrested a woman who was caught breaking into people's cars and stealing sunglasses and other items that, unless made by some world-famous designer, aren't exactly worth a fortune.

What's interesting is that, according to information shared with the public by the police officers in charge of handling this case, the woman is yet to admit that she was burglarizing cars and, therefore, deserves to spend some time in prison.

Thus, Huffington Post tells us that the thief maintains that she wasn't breaking into vehicles to steal other people's belongings, but to look for ISIS terrorists hiding inside them.

The supposed hunt for ISIS terrorists

This peculiar incident is understood to have happened in Jackson County, Mississippi. The cars that the woman stole from were all parked close to the local East Central High School, where the terrorist hunter wannabe's children study.

The woman, identified as 41-year-old Lisa Carole Richie, was taken into police custody this past Friday, after the police gathered evidence that she was the one stealing things from the cars in East Central High School's parking lot.

Faced with this evidence, the woman admitted to having broken into several vehicles. However, she was quick to stress that she only did it hoping to find potential members of terrorist group the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham.

It is still unclear how the woman would have dealt with the ISIS terrorists, had she in fact found a couple of them hiding in people's cars. Luckily, not one single terrorist was lurking inside any of the vehicles inspected by the 41-year-old.

Unless the sunglasses and other personal belongings that Lisa Carole Richie took from the cars that she broke into while hunting for terrorists were in fact ISIS members and supporters in disguise, that is.

Not the best excuse in the books

Not at all surprisingly, police officers in Mississippi, US, are having serious trouble believing that 41-year-old Lisa Carole Richie got busy exploring complete strangers' cars looking to find ISIS members and supporters, and bring them to justice.

Instead, they are quite convinced that this woman is no more and no less than a run-of-the-mill thief. The 41-year-old currently finds herself behind bars at the Jackson County jail, and will remain there until she makes her first appearance in court.

If found guilty of stealing from cars parked in the proximity of Mississippi's East Central High School, the woman risks being sentenced to spending up to 5 years in prison and being made to pay a fine amounting to $10,000 (approximately €7,990).
