14 DAY TRIAL // Stephanie Choate has long dreamed of her incredible catch in Mozambique last week. Choate bagged a 1,018-pound (460-kg) black marlin off the African country shore.
According to Grind TV, she is about 5-foot-8 (172-cm) tall and weighs only 125 pounds (57 kg). However, the 27-year-old angler has managed to land the grander, a catch which she describes as “titillating.”
This is the first marlin that Choate catches in her life. Its length is about double her height and it weighs about ten times more than she does.
“In a million years I never thought it would happen like this, but the best part about fishing is great things will inevitably happen when you least expect them,” Choate says.
She went on the fishing trip with friends who helped reel in and weigh the behemoth on the QuoVadis catamaran.
