A woman from Colorado spent the night praying after being called and text messaged by someone pretending to be Hell's ruler, Satan. Jenn West got several calls from the number 1-666-666-666 followed by text messages from different numbers reading “Satan.”

Jenn had fallen asleep after breast feeding her infant when she received a very weird phone call from a freaky number in the middle of the night. “It really freaked me out because I was half asleep feeding my son and it woke me up,” the woman told KUSA TV. The number calling was almost all made up from the number six.

As if the 666 calls were not enough, the scared woman received as much as 48 text messages from different numbers containing just one word, “Satan.” After the event, Jenn stayed up all night praying for her safety wishing that nothing bad would happen to her or to her family.

After the “texts from hell,” she tried calling the number back but only heard a recorded message saying the number was no longer in service. Whoever orchestrated the prank has a really dark sense of humor. After a few searches, it was discovered that the number was used in several pranks meant to scare people with threatening text messages saying that individuals are going to die.

People experiencing the same freaky phone calls wrote about their scare on a forum in an attempt to get some answers. The user who started the discussion said “I just got a call from 666-666-6666 (which was creepy enough). An automated voice that sounded like the old Apple text to speech guy stammered sputnik at me a bit then called me [names]... Kind of weird. It's like the beginning of a horror movie.”

Another user also confessed “yesterday I got a phone call and my mom answered it. It said 'Ian Folk(my name) has three days to live' of course my mom has been freaking out all day about it. I push last call on my phone and it says the number is 666-666-6666. I try to call it but it isn't a real number. It was pretty creepy.”

From the array of weird calls related on the forum, it seems that Jenn is not the only victim of the so-called “Satan prank.” According to some of the users, there is a website, www.ospenterprises.com/phone/, that plays pranks to people through an automated service.

The woman recently gave some handouts with her number on the street, promoting her new business, and it is possible that someone thought that the bad joke would be amusing. The scared mother really hopes everything was just a bad joke that will never happen again.
