A teenager from Germany has made running in high heels an art, even snatching a record for it.

Julie Plecher, of Ruckersdorf, will be featured in the 2014 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records by running in stilettos on a course which is 100 meters (328 feet) long.

The 18-year-old woman is somewhat of a professional, running in 3 1/2-inch (8.9-cm) heels golden stilettos while wearing a wonderfully coordinated skirt and pearl earrings.

She completed the sprint in 14.531 seconds, and that's not the most remarkable thing she has achieved.

In 2009, she took part in a race, running in 3.4-inch (8.5-cm) heels and won a large amount of money meant to be used for shopping.

The rules for her entering the race obliged her to wear 2.75-inch (7-cm) heels, but, even though that's what her competitors did, she still won.
