Google has made Street View a much more picturesque place, or at least a more peaceful one, with the addition of the most beautiful and interesting parks from 22 different countries.

It was quite a massive effort and quite a lot of pedaling involved, but the Street View trike performed its duty and captured some very serene sights.

"Whether you’re planning a trip to a park around the block or around the world, you’ll now find more parks showing up in Street View," Ryan Falor, Product Manager for Street View, wote.

"Over the past year, the Street View team, equipped with the Street View trike, traveled to 22 different countries to photograph some of the world’s most beautiful and unique parks. Starting today, you can explore the couple hundred new special collections we’ve added by visiting our gallery," he said.

You can start right away and find beautiful places nearby to start exploring, or check out how people half way around the world enjoy a day in the park.

Google has selected six parks to showcase in its online gallery, two from the US, the High Line Park, in New York City, and Liberty Park, near the Liberty Statue, in Jersey City, as well as Kensington Gardens, in London, UK, Koganei Park in Tokyo, Japan, Knuthenborg Safari Park, in Zealand, Denmark and Casa de Campo Parque in Madrid Spain.

Of course, that's just what Google hand picked, but there are plenty of more places to check out if you want to explore.

Google has been adding more and more interesting locations to Street View, apart from regular 'streets,' famous landmarks like Stonehenge, the Versailles Palace and so on, can be visited.

More recently, Google has added interior imagery of the Iraq National Museum and all of its treasures. It also propped up the Street View trike on top of a rail cart and created a tour of the Albula-Bernina railway in the Swiss Alps.
