Video game developer CD Projekt RED has announced that it has plans to launch two new video games, one during 2014 and one during 2015, which will arrive both on the PC and on next-generation home consoles, powered by an all-new game engine that the development team is now working on.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Adam Badowski, the managing director working at CD Projekt RED, stated, “We are definitely starting for new consoles. I can tell you we are and we were focusing on powerful gaming rigs. We’re going to do something amazing, so we need extra processors.

“It will be multi-platform game, so the multi-release at the same time. But if you are talking about leading platform, we will use most powerful, just because it can give us the freedom of creation.”

The executive was unwilling to talk about exactly the types of games that the studio is creating, saying that they now have a second team that is prototyping a new concept while the core Witcher team is, presumably, already working on the third game in the series.

Badowsk added, “The whole scenario is quite simple: we’re going to create almost exactly the same kind of team, and our policy is to create RPG games for mature audiences. But of course the second title will be different than the first one. We need to change universe and gameplay mechanics, but the game will be based on a deep scenario as The Witcher games.”

CD Projekt RED also has two smaller projects that will be released this year, one set to get more details during the next few months, and another which is slated for later during the year.

Another AA game is being prepared for 2013.

The developers were not ready to offer details on any of them but given that they are smaller projects they might be spin-offs from the core Witcher concept or ports of the first game for current home consoles or even the new Wii U.
