The Sundance Film Festival doesn't begin until early next year but there's already a lot of hype around it, mostly because it's the place were some of the best films of the year make their debut. This speaks volumes for “Wish You Were Here.”

Shortly after the announcement that the drama will open the film festival in January, a trailer for it has been released.

“Wish You Were Here” has a tentative release date for Australia sometime in 2012 but, as of now, no US distributor has yet picked it up – which is where Sundance comes in.

The film tells the story of two couples, four best friends, who pack their bags for what they believe will be the most fun, exotic vacation ever. It turns out to be a nightmare, as one of them goes missing.

Starring Joel Edgerton, Antony Starr, Felicity Price, and Teresa Palmer, the film was directed by Kieran Darcy-Smith. By the looks of the trailer, it's one to keep an eye out for in the coming year.
