Wintermaul Redux is a Tower Defense map that was created on the Northrend tileset with a size of 96x96 of which 88x88 playable. This map is best played with 9 players.

The map was made for fans of Wintermaul that hate the fact that the only way to lose is to lag out. The whole thing has been remade from the bottom up. All other considerations were made secondary to gameplay and to ensure that the lag is gone.

All of the inefficient triggers and pathing were redone. In addition, the map was made perfectly symmetrical and greatly simplified. Lots of races have been removed and most of the races now have upgradable towers that will improve the game's continuity. Finally, all of the spawns were rebalanced. Also new is the level system.

The first level Scout, is Normal, so players can get a hint about the difficulty of the game. From this on, the armor of the creeps will go through a five level circle. The order is at follows: Fortified, Medium, Unarmored, Heavy and Light. These armored units can be fought with different attack types:

Razing - double damage to Fortified, but half to Unarmored Normal - double damage to Medium, and half to Heavy Maiming - double damage to Unarmored, and half to Fortified Magic - double damage to Heavy, and half to Light Piercing - double damage to Light, and half to Medium.

The most distinguishing feature of this map is the collective bounty system. Whenever a player kills a unit, all players receive gold. This will eliminate the in-game quarrel that starts when one player feels that they are having their kills stolen.

You don't have to worry if a player leaves; a leaver's bounty will randomly given to another player whenever a unit is killed. This is a nice Tower Defense game, that had a lot of work put into it. There are lots of towers, lots of upgrades and lots of creep waves so great gameplay is ensured. The map's difficulty is quite high so mazing skills are a must.
