To top the plain rice wine encountered in Asian countries, Koreans thought of making it even more interesting, by adding dead baby mice to the mix and giving the alcoholic drink some special medicinal properties. The mice floating at the bottom of the bottle are the special ingredient making the drink a must-have.

Even if it sounds as disgusting as it gets and can easily be placed in the world's most horrible things to taste category, the baby mice rice wine is one of Korea's specials. The origins of the drink are not very clear, some associating it to Korea or even to China, but what is actually known is that the recipe is very strict.

For the special wine to have the exact medicinal properties needed, the mice must be no more than three days old, with their eyes still closed and without a thread of hair on their body. Almost fifteen dead baby animals must be selected and drowned in the rice wine before letting them ferment for almost one year, according to Trend Hunter.

After this specific procedure, the drink is good for consumption, and it is so strong that it is supposed to almost knock one down to the floor. Maybe that is why it is considered a very good medicine-type of drink because it can be used as an anesthetic. The drink is supposed to cure many of illnesses, including asthma or liver disease. Some may say it can surely cure one of alcoholism.

In the top of weird drinks most people won't even look at, we can also find the Venomous Snake Wine originating in Vietnam but found all over the Southeast part of Asia. The poison of the snake has to dissolve in the liquor after being treated with ethanol so its proteins are deactivated and won't risk killing some curious customer.

Besides the snake wine, some also add in the mix turtles, birds, insects or many other smaller snakes, all together in one extremely weird beverage. Sellers claim that these kinds of drinks have incredible medical properties and can also cure a huge range of illnesses, but it can also be just claims to make people buy them.
