Since the April release of Apple Computer's Boot Camp application that allowed Windows and Mac OS operating systems to run one at the time on the Intel powered Mac platform, the two have been offered a new dimension of interoperability by Parallels Inc.. This time the two operating systems will be able to run simultaneously through the Parallels Desktop for the Mac application that even offers users the possibility of changing documents from one platform to the other.

But Parallels goes one step further as the Windows does and Mac OS can run simultaneously with other operating systems including Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, OS/2, eComStation or MS-DOS, all provided that the Mac's processor be one produced by Intel.

In the Windows - Mac OS equation both operating systems bring advantages to the eventual users of such hybrids. Windows' widely used programs will no longer be an impediment to those who wanted a Mac for the security advantages that it offered, but it will be available with similar features and at a comparable speed to those on the PC, but in the almost virus free environment of the Mac platforms.

Parallels will charge 79$ for the software, although for the first 30 days this will cost only 49$.
