Today, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is expected to unveil to the world its first handsets running under Microsoft's Windows Phone Mango operating system, and it seems that one of these devices already received the necessary blessing from the FCC.

We're referring here to the HTC Eternity smartphone, which should make an official appearance today, and which was spotted at the FCC with the model number PI39110 attached to it.

The same model number made an appearance a while ago in relation to the yet unofficial handset from the company, via a UAProf record.

The said User Agent string pointed at an HTC TITAN X310e smartphone, which is believed to be the market name for the HTC Eternity, a high-end device from the Taiwan-based vendor.

At the FCC, the new device landed with support for GSM bands 850 and 1900, but with no mentioning of WCDMA bands, which makes it hard to determine the wireless carrier that might release it.

One way or the other, users in the United States might soon be able to purchase a new flagship device from HTC, one that would pack a large 4.7-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a WVGA resolution.

But there's more to it, as the new mobile phone is expected to arrive on shelves with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 application processor, supposedly complemented by 512MB of RAM.

Although not a dual core-powered handset, the new mobile phone is still expected to deliver great performance capabilities, which will translate into a great experience offered to all users.

The mobile phone will also arrive on shelves with 16GB of internal storage, as well as with WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, built-in GPS receiver.

It will also include an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with 720p HD video capture capabilities, as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera that will provide users with video calling capabilities.
