Last week, Microsoft started to deliver to Windows Phone 7

users a new software update aimed at enhancing the experience they receive from their handsets, and some more info on when would the software arrive in the United States emerged.

When announcing the new update, Microsoft unveiled that only unlocked smartphones would receive it at first, and that the carrier-branded handsets would be updated at later dates.

However, that time already came, and T-Mobile USA started a few days ago the release of Windows phone 7 NoDo update to its HTC HD7 users. Yesterday, Dell announced the availability of this software for its Venue Pro smartphone as well.

While Magenta is currently delivering the new update to users of both Windows Phone 7 devices on its airwaves, AT&T has yet to start the deployment for its users.

Apparently, the carrier is set to make the move in the near future, and Microsoft themselves noted on their support website that early April would be the lucky time frame for AT&T's customers.

Currently, the update is in testing at the wireless carrier for all three Windows Phone 7 smartphones it has on sale, namely HTC Surround, LG Quantum and Samsung Focus.

“Estimated testing completion date is early April 2011,” Microsoft notes on the said page, updated on March 30th to reflect the latest changes on the matter.

Next, Microsoft would be scheduling the update for delivery, something that should be completed in a matter of days, followed by the actual roll-out, which would come to end users in batches.

The NoDo software update would arrive with a nice range of improvements for Windows Phone 7 users, including the ability to copy&paste text on their devices.

Moreover, the update brings improvements to the performance of application and games running on these phones, as well as enhancements to the Marketplace search, and more.
