A few weeks ago, Redmond-based software giant Microsoft started the roll-out of a new software update for its Windows Phone 7 operating system, codenamed NoDo, which is already available for T-Mobile customers in the United States, but which still missing from Windows Phones on AT&T's network. Although the update was expected to already be delivered to these devices, it seems that AT&T is not ready yet to make it available for its customers.

AT&T has three Windows Phone 7 devices available for its customers, the Samsung Focus, LG Quantum, and HTC Surround, but none of them has received the software update as of now.

In a recent blog post, Microsoft acknowledges that the update was not pushed out as of yet, but does not offer specific info on when the update might be released for AT&T's customers.

“I know many of you are waiting eagerly for news about the Samsung Focus, LG Quantum, and HTC Surround. As we’ve noted [...], these phones are expected to finish update testing in early April,” Eric Hautala, GM, Customer Experience Engineering.

“We're eager to share progress. But these tests are important, and they're just not quite done. I expect to have more to say soon - so please stay tuned.”

In addition to confirming that it might take some time before AT&T would push the update out, Microsoft also announced a how-to resource on their Windows Phone website, called Update Central.

There, the company gathered all the necessary info on the update of Windows Phone 7 devices, including details on how to prepare for the process, or how to perform it.

“Update Central brings together step-by-step instructions, troubleshooting steps for common errors, and other useful updated-related info,” the aforementioned blog post reads.

The NoDo update for Windows Phone 7 devices comes with some new, appealing features included into the mix, such as copy&paste, applications and game performance enhancements, better Marketplace search, and more.
