The latest mobile operating system from Redmond-based Microsoft was announced officially only a few days ago, but it already managed to create a lot of buzz all around the world, that's for sure. Microsoft has presented the capabilities of the new Windows Phone 7 Series at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but most certainly, still has a lot of details hidden up its sleeve.

One of the new services that Windows Phone users can enjoy on their devices is the Windows Marketplace for Mobile, from where they can download and install applications developed for Microsoft's mobile client. The new Windows Phone 7 Series has been already confirmed to include support for various applications on its hubs, and we already learned that it would also come with the ability to run more than one application at the same time, so the interest on the Marketplace for the new OS is on the rise.

Those who would like to have a glimpse at the Marketplace for Windows Phone 7 Series should take a look at the newly spotted screenshots with the software solution portal, which looks very much like the overall user interface of the new operating system. The new Marketplace interface seems to be inspired by Zune, and one will see on the opening screen some options for the app portal, including apps, games, music and podcasts.

The same as in the Window Phone 7 OS, the interface seems to be wider than the actual screen of the mobile phone, and users will have to scroll horizontally to access more info. There are no details available at the moment on the apps that will be included in the storefront, but there are great chances that older apps won't be there, mainly due to the fact that the new handsets will sport higher screen resolutions, and the existing software won't offer compatibility with them.

Those who might want to learn more on the user interface of Windows Phone 7 Series can also have a look at the two videos embedded below. The first one is from Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 Series website, while the second emerged on WMPoweruser, and is said to be a leaked ad. “Go ahead and stare - the user interface of Windows Phone 7 Series deserves it. That's the reaction we got at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona when we revealed this new holistic design system that brings together form and function based on key principles - informing every aspect of the phone. See what everyone is talking about by checking out this video,” Microsoft notes on the aforementioned website.
