Microsoft is providing companies interested in its Cloud-based management and security offering with the chance to influence the development of the next generation of Windows Intune. Windows Intune v1 was launched in March 2011, in a move by the software giant to democratize PC management and security with the help of an innovative service-based model, designed to cover the needs of enterprise customers, and provide even small businesses with enterprise-grade solutions.

I had a chance to chat with Gavriella Schuster, Windows Intune general manager of Windows Product Management when the first version of Windows Intune went live earlier this year, and she promised me that new iterations will succeed one another extremely fast.

The next version of Windows Intune is already in the works, and the Redmond company is inviting IT professionals to provide their two cents and contribute to the development process.

“The Microsoft Windows Intune product team is looking for organizations interested in influencing the future of cloud based IT management and security,” revealed a member of the Windows Intune Customer Programs Team.

“We are looking for IT desktop administrators and technical decision makers who are managing 5,000 or more PCs. Your IT organization may be involved in activities that include keeping PCs secure and up to date, distributing software applications, managing mobile devices, performing data backup and restore, and monitoring PC health, to name a few.”

The Redmond company set up a survey on Microsoft Connect for Windows Intune, and apparently this link can be used to access it, although I was unable to get it to work properly, or to find any feedback options whatsoever for that matter.

“Participation includes periodic surveys and questionnaires, one-on-one phone interviews, and group discussions. We expect this should only take a 1-2 hours a month,” the Windows Intune Customer Programs Team representative added.
