Following the public availability of the Release Candidate development milestone of Windows 7 Microsoft has been outdoing itself when it comes to taking the resources associated with the next iteration of the operating system to the next level. Not only is the Redmond company hard at work building the gold version for the successor of Windows Vista, but it is also cooking the RTM build of the software development kit for Windows 7. As of July 2nd, 2009, Microsoft has been making public all the changes it introduced since the RC release of Windows 7 SDK. Among the modifications are new and updated Systems Management samples.

According to a member of the Windows SDK team, Microsoft's changes to the SDK for the next iteration of Windows involve “systems management and scheduling samples, including Task Scheduler, Windows PowerShell, and Windows Remote Management (WinRM).” But the new Systems Management Win32 Samples in Windows SDK for Windows 7 are just a small part of the overall modifications brought to the table by the Redmond company.

When it comes down to Win32, Microsoft managed to bring new samples as well as update existing items for Networking and Related Services, Multimedia and Security. In total, the software giant explained that it had managed to modify in excess of 1,200 samples. This happened since the availability of the Release Candidate of Windows 7. In this regard, the changes were extensive. While indeed new samples have been added, fact is that Microsoft also simplified and updated, even extended older samples.

The software giant is currently making its way to the RTM of Windows 7 and Windows Sever 2008 R2. The company is targeting the second half of July 2009 to start shipping the gold builds of Windows 7 to OEM partners and for boxed copies of the operating system to be produced. Along with Windows 7 it will also release Windows 7 SDK to manufacturing, allowing developers to build applications tailored for the operating system long before the platform will hit the shelves on October 22, 2009.
