Designer creates a different interpretation of Windows 10

Windows 10 Preview is already here, but with some locked features, including a notification center that’s very likely to be made available to everyone in the coming months, as Microsoft completes development of new features.

While at this point information is really vague on this notification center, one designer used the existing details to create his very own concept imagining the feature with a modern approach that would allow consumers to perform many more tasks with the help of quick actions.

At this point, the Windows 10 Preview notification center is pretty basic and doesn’t include anything else besides a clean design similar to the one available right now in Windows Phone.

At the same time, essential features are missing for the moment, so in the case of Skype messages, for example, you are not allowed to quickly reply to a contact straight from the notification center.

Entirely created in Microsoft Paint

Created by Chandradeep Dey, the concept doesn’t bring too many new features besides a revamped notification center and a new personalization screen that includes a few more options than the one currently available to users in Windows 10.

The designer claims that the entire concept was made in Microsoft Paint, and although it looks pretty decent, there’s still room for improvements and refinements that could make the notification center and its options a bit more eye-candy.

The notification center thus includes not only messages and warnings from running apps, but also quick shortcuts to control the laptop battery, volume, Bluetooth and others. Plus, you can configure the notification center to run on silent between some specific hours, block some apps from sending messages, and let an app or program control the clock.

The system tray menu has also been revamped, and the clock info screen now includes two live tiles for faster access to the calendar, stopwatch, timer, and alarm.

Microsoft expected to improve the notification center as well

Even though the notification center is rather basic at this point, there’s no doubt that Microsoft is working to improve it before the final version of Windows 10 hits the shelves.

Word has it that Microsoft has already prepared several improvements for this notification center, which could include more interaction options, especially for Skype messages and other applications sending info to the user.

The notification center could actually show up in a future Windows 10 Preview, but it remains to be seen if the company actually completes development in time for the next build, which could see daylight as soon as this week.
