Today Microsoft rolled out a total of 14 security updates supposed to fix vulnerabilities in Windows and other products, and as part of the release, Windows 10 also got its very own batch of improvements.

Only shipped to Windows 10 build 9926, which is the latest Technical Preview build released by Microsoft as part of the Windows Insider program, the 4 security updates are meant to patch flaws that also exist on other Windows versions, so it's critical for everyone to install them as soon as possible.

MS15-020 was designed to resolve a vulnerability in Windows, according to official documentation provided by Microsoft, and "requires a user to open a file in a working directory containing a specially crafted DLL file."

MS15-018 represents a cumulative security update for Internet Explorer that fixes several vulnerabilities in Redmond's browser, some of which could allow an attacker to obtain the same privileges as the logged-in user.

At the same time, Microsoft also updated the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and the built-in Flash Player support for Internet Explorer, so users are now benefiting from enhanced protection even if they are on Windows 10.

New build coming very soon

Microsoft has confirmed that it's working on a new build of Windows 10 for Windows Insiders, and while no specifics have been provided on the release date, it's believed that it could launch either this or next week.

The new Windows 10 build is expected to bring several improvements to the desktop, including transparency for the Start menu and Start screen, as well as an early build of Spartan browser, which will soon replace Internet Explorer on both PCs and smartphones.

Just like all the other new builds, the next one will come through the integrated update system, while today's security updates will be shipped via Windows Update, just like it happens on all the other Windows versions out there.
