Microsoft is expected to release a new Windows 10 preview build sometime this month, but while the company remains tightlipped on the launch date and any other details, more information emerges via unofficial channels.

This time, Russian leaker WZor has published the release notes of Windows 10 build 10108 that allow us to see what’s new in this unreleased version of the preview.

As you can see in the photo gallery below, build 10108 comes with theme updates for the taskbar and several changes to the personalization settings to support Control Panel redirection and previous access methods. At the same time, there are some new customizations in the Start settings screen, Microsoft says without going into detail.

“You can now opt out of and provide feedback about Start menu offers in a context menu,” the company explains, adding that “you can now long press or right-click to pin a settings page to the Start screen.”

There are plenty of other new features, including performance and infrastructure improvements to the Start menu, support for magic tethering in the networking settings, the Start screen no longer contains a search box in Cortana glyph mode, and the Start menu should correctly work in multimonitor screen configuration.

It could be shipped to users this month

Right now, it’s not yet clear whether this build is the next one to be shipped to users enrolled in the Windows Insider program, but if it is, expect it to see daylight later this month.

Microsoft is projected to introduce a new build of Windows 10 Mobile but also a new version of the PC preview, so expect all devices to be updated with fresh goodies later this month.

Windows 10 is most likely to launch in the summer on the PC, so we’re not very far from this moment, which means that Microsoft is very close to finalizing work on this new operating system version.
