14 DAY TRIAL // Screenshots showing the new Windows 10 build 10009 version got leaked a few days ago via Chinese sources, and now a fresh set of photos come to reveal a little bit more about this particular version of the Technical Preview.
It appears that this is the very first version of the Windows 10 Technical Preview that comes with Spartan, Microsoft's new browser that will be offered alongside Internet Explorer at first, but which is expected to replace it completely at some point in the future.
Microsoft showed off Spartan for the first time at the January 21 event at its headquarters in Redmond, and the company promised to include it in a future Windows 10 build for insiders, but no other specifics were provided.
And now, given the fact that build 10009 has already been submitted to some testers, it's believed that this could be the next build to ship to all users as well, thus giving them access to an early version of Spartan too.
New menus and settings screen
As compared to Internet Explorer, Spartan will come as a universal app and will run across all devices powered by Windows 10, including PCs, tablets and smartphones.
As you can see in these screenshots, Spartan will be a modern app and will come with a settings screen that looks very similar to the one of Cortana in build 9926.
There's also the brand new reading mode that Microsoft presented during the Windows 10 event, as well as search features that are powered by Bing.
Spartan will come with Cortana integration to help you search the web and perform several tasks with voice commands, but this feature doesn't seem to be ready right now, so in build 10009 you only search the web with Bing.
Spartan will definitely be there in the final build of Windows 10 when the new operating system comes out in the fall of 2015, according to sources close to the matter. A new Windows 10 Technical Preview build is expected to launch in February, but it's not yet clear if 10009 is the one or not.
