24 Hours of PASS: Summit Preview event participants will get the chance to win some prizes from the SQL Team through the “#SQLDenali / #24HOP Challenge.” The contest will involve questions from each 24 Hours of PASS session which users will need to respond using their Twitter accounts. Obviously, they’ll first need to follow the @SQLServer Twitter account, and watch the training content offered by Microsoft.

According to Microsoft, the contest is scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. ET on September 7, 2011 and end a day later at 9:00 p.m. ET on September 8.

The Redmond company will share questions via the @SQLServer Twitter account and participants will need to reply in order to get a chance at winning the prizes offered by the software giant.

“Include in the tweet your answer to the posted question. Your tweet must contain both the #sqldenali & #24hop hashtags to be eligible for entry. Your tweet with the answer must include the complete/full name of the product (e.g. “SQL Server 2008 R2”), while incomplete/abbreviated answers like “SQL R2” will be disqualified,” Microsoft notes.

The contest is opened only to those IT professionals that will also take part in the free 24 Hours of PASS: Summit Preview event, but there seem to be no geographical restrictions.

Microsoft posted the #24HOP / #SQLDENALI Challenge official rules on the blog of the SQL Server team.

Prizes will be handed out on a first-come-first-served basis, namely, the author of the first tweet with a correct answer will also get the prize.

“The first person to correctly respond will receive an SQL Server and/or Microsoft BI branded gifts/items. Approximate Retail Value $30. A total of twenty four (24) prizes are available,” the company stated. “Limit of one prize per person or Twitter account for the duration of the Challenge, regardless of the number of correct answers submitted.”
