Microsoft is offering users multiple chances to win free copies of Windows 7 and Office 2010 in the latest two rounds of the Windows Recession Sweepstakes.

According to Microsoft’s Ashley Brown, the Redmond company launched Rounds 8 and 9 of the Windows Recession Sweepstakes simultaneously.

What this means is that users will get two chances to win the prizes offered by the software giant.

“We’ve done seven sweeps so far and I realized this weekend that I’ve never talked about Hotmail. Windows Live Hotmail recently got a refresh and it’s more powerful than ever at helping you save time and sweep away inbox clutter,” Brown stated.

“Now, you can work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote files right from your email – even if you don’t have Microsoft Office installed on your PC.”

“You’re also protected from junk mail by Microsoft SmartScreen, which governments and businesses use to protect their email, and you can now send up to 10GB in attachments.”

Brown encouraged users to give Windows Live Hotmail Wave 4 a try. The evolution of Microsoft’s email client is extremely consistent across the table, and testers are bound to be amazed by the new features, enhanced capabilities and boosted performance.

“In the meantime, drop us a comment and tell us what you love about Windows Live. (…) I’ll draw two names from entries this round to win. You have 24 hours to enter rounds 8 & 9,” Brown stated.

Be advised that in order to be considered for the Windows Recession Sweepstakes you need to be a resident of the United States.

In addition, only comments to this post on the Windows Team blog are considered valid entries.

Up for grabs are two copies of Windows 7 Ultimate, two copies of Office Home & Student and a couple of 16 GB Zune HD Digital Media Player devices.
