If you're a fan of MMO face smashing but the PvP component of Wildstar let you down, you might want to give the game another chance; Carbine has outlined its plans for player versus player content in 2015, and there's a lot of new stuff incoming.

Wildstar came out in June last year, touted as a possible World of Warcraft killer, or at least something that offers an experience similar to the hardcore one delivered by Blizzard Entertainment's highly lauded massively multiplayer online role role-playing game at launch.

Some people liked it, while others found it lacking in end-game content, in spite of the charming and colorful world crafted by Carbine, and decried its unbalanced PvP and ridiculously difficult raid progression system.

In any case, Carbine has been hard at work since the game was released, constantly updating and tweaking whatever the community has deemed fit, and now it's time for PvP to get some neat additions.

The next Wildstar update, dubbed The Protogames Initiative, will include new daily PvP quests, new weekly quests, and random-queue bonuses that reward players for engaging in a wider variety of content.

More big plans for 2015

Further down the line, the developer plans to launch PvP Season 2, once all the necessary adjustments and improvements to the PvP gear are made.

Exile and Dominion teams will also be able to engage in same-faction battlegrounds, and players will be able to take up PvP contracts.

Further changes include some balance tweaks to gear, where the current Blue PvP set will be made available for in-game gold instead of Prestige, and the rating requirements for PvP gear will be removed, enabling users to save up Prestige for getting the current 1800 rating gear.

In addition to this, Legendary PvE gear advantages will be greatly reduced, and Gear Normalization will be introduced in instanced PvP content, rallying all players to the same item level, around the level of current 1800 PvP rating gear.
