Nintendo's upcoming gaming console, the previously named Revolution and the current Wii, is said to hit the market at the lowest price in the gaming industry. More precisely, the Wii will be retailed at $170 or at $250, depending on the mysterious sources you listen to, as the Xbox and the PlayStion 3 will feature $300 and $600, respectively, for the high-end versions.

And even if Wii's price will be higher than the one previously predicted, it will be cheaper than the two other consoles and the cost could trigger a huge success and, of course, the biggest market share on the dedicated segment.

"The Nintendo Wii will be priced below ?250 for the European market, according to a Nintendo senior executive. Bernd Fakesch, the head of Nintendo's German operations said: "The price has not been decided yet, but I expect it to be... less than 250 Euros." The current exchange rate shows that 250 Euros converts to ~$320 USD," reports Daily Tech.

Ever since the company showcased the revolutionary designed Wii, the console has been transformed in the headline of all specialized magazines, and every technology editor is expecting it at the upcoming Games Convention that will take place in Leipzig, Germany this month.

The release date for Nintendo's latest development is not yet known, but is expected to be somewhere around the peak of the shopping season, meaning December 25. Looks like the Wii will be one month late, as Sony's PS3 will hit the Asian market on November 17 and the price cut for the Xbox will hit on about the same date.

However, even the exact retail price is unknown, but many undisclosed sources are saying it will be around $170 and $250. And even if it will cost less than the other two, the analysts are not sure on the effect it will have on the worldwide sales.
