Bat, club and racket for the Wii Sports fans

Wii Sports has cashed in, earned many BAFTA gaming awards, appealed to elder folks and now it's ready to provide a revamped experience thanks to a new set of controllers which have just been released by dreamGEAR. The pack is called "Soft Sports Kit" and it includes a bat, racket and a club which will be available for as much as $ 34.99.

The controllers feature a snap-in design and they come bundled with a Wii cooling fan, which is rather odd, since the console has no known overheating problems. According to dreamGEAR, the joysticks are made "using a soft and safe material", so in case you'll drop the bat from your hand at full speed it will probably (not) smash that expensive flat screen TV. As long as Wii Sports keeps its appeal and popularity, such gizmos will always sell well, and the phenomenon can be compared to that created by the Guitar Hero mania.

What would that game be without a guitar-shaped controller? Also, try to imagine playing Wii Sports with the aid of a SIXAXIS joystick or an Xbox 360 controller... It would ruin the entire experience, especially if you've ever used a Wiimote. Motion sensing controllers are surely the future and even the PSP supports such a feature now with the aid of a small device attached to it. Even phones include accelerometers which grant them the possibility to emulate functions of DS or Wii titles, but we haven't seen any such titles till now.

What about some boxing gloves for the boxing fanatics? Some may say that the Wii Tennis burns the most calories, but I tend to favor Wii Boxing as the game that requires the most effort. Well, we'll wait for the next generation of controllers (or console) as those developers seem to never run out of ideas.
