According to a well known gaming site, SNK Playmore USA has recently revealed that Virtual Console's Turbografx, NES, SNES and SEGA Genesis classics will be making room for another category to enter. A 900 Wii Pointer, Neo Geo Arcade Games category that is, among which SNK mentioned Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury and World Heroes, to be made available for download soon.

The news comes via 1UP.com, which also reports that, although details are scarce for now, "Tokyo-based D4Enterprise, Inc. will be handling the releases, with more promised to be announced 'in the coming months'."

Everyone's already keeping their fingers crossed for an upcoming release of at least two of the upper mentioned arcade titles, and I hope World Heroes fans don't feel discriminated if we reckon that Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury is what all Wii gamers and users of its online service are anxiously waiting to grab.

I've gathered a little bit of information on each title. Written below is each of the three games' main attraction features (if you agree... If you don't, there's always that comments column below).

The Art of Fighting - the player has two basic attacks--punch and kick--as well as a utility button that switches between punches, kicks, and throws. A fourth button is used for taunting. Most importantly however, Art of Fighting contributed with to the genre with the inclusion of a 'spirit gauge' underneath the character's life bar, and let's not forget the graphical scaling - as the characters move away from each other, the camera will zoom out to keep both players on the screen.

Fatal Fury's main feature was the two-plane system: characters fight from two different planes, and by stepping between the planes, attacks could be dodged with ease. Characters often had moves that could attack across the two planes, attack both planes at once, or otherwise attack characters attempting to dodge. (Wikipedia)

World Heroes - instead of a 6-button layout, the original World Heroes uses only 3 of the standard 4 Neo-Geo buttons: one for punching, another for kicking, and the last for throwing, which makes it a very simple, yet attractive fighting game.

So, all you have to do is wait and see when SNK Playmore launches its first games through VC, which is the most difficult task for a gamer these days.
