As the Nintendo Wii's launch is getting closer and closer, information about games supported by the platform start coming out. Next in line is Nintendo's Mario Party 8, game that has been unveiled on the publishers' website in September.

Eurogamer reports the game has "been seen in the wild" at the Nintendo World event in Japan. Mario Party 8 is due to come out sometime in 2007, and it had six playable demos presented in Nagoya. According to Eurogamer, the new installment will not bring something new as it will follow the same tradition, namely a board game with Mario as the main character, featuring some other mini-games.

Although the number 8 is present in the games' name, Mario Party 8 is the tenth game in the series and the first of many to be released on Nintendo Wii. The list of characters is quite impressive as it features 12 main characters and 2 other secret unlockable ones. The 12 main characters are Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Toad, Boo, Toadette, Birdo and Dry Bones.

Mario Party 8 will also have a series of mini-games like Water Ski, Soda Shake, Target Practice and Raise the Flag.
