Intense swordplay through realistic loading times

Red Steel might not have been that impressive during E3 yet the title seems to have been subjected to a serious makeover in the past few months. It was during the Leipzig Game Convention that German based fan site Nintendo-Lan managed to gain new insight from the developers themselves, concerning graphics load times and swordplay.

Many impressions of Red Steel's E3 demo lamented the sword fighting system, which we thought felt more like a mini game than immersive gameplay. On the contrary, sword moves have been completely redesigned and aren't predetermined anymore. Controller moves are converted into the game precisely, one on one in real time. Red Steel is definitely moving toward a more freestyle sword fighting scheme. Wii-mote sensitivity will be completely adjustable in the final version. Fans have the right to get excited as this might very well be the first blockbuster title to properly make use of Wii's cutting edge controller. Graphically, Red Steel took a leap forward since the last showing as atmosphere is now darker and thrilling.

Feeling and immersion will undoubtedly be enhanced since Red Steel will feature no loading times at all, thanks to Ubisoft's smart streaming techniques. It is unknown how it's handled in other Wii games, but as a fact, Mario Strikers Charged will have loading times similar to the Gamecube version of the game. Who ever thought the epitome of hack and slash games will actually come from console innovations? Nintendo presents us with a mysterious experience on Wii, with players wondering just how fast will that swinging and running around the room tire oneself. Zelda slicing will never be the same for young ones.
