While Summit Entertainment is reportedly worrying about how the Kristen Stewart cheating scandal will affect “Breaking Dawn Part 2,” Universal too might be in hot waters because of it: reports say that Rupert Sanders' wife has prohibited him from working on the sequel of “Snow White and the Huntsman.”

The film opened to lukewarm reviews but still made enough money at the box office to warrant a sequel, which Universal imagined would bring back the same cast: Sanders as director, Kristen Stewart as Snow White, and Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman.

Since Sanders and Stewart were caught cheating on their respective partners and thus publicly embarrassed themselves, many started wondering whether a sequel would be made with the same formula.

Clearly, it's not like Universal could just replace Snow White so, whether they liked it or not, they're stuck with Kristen.

And Sanders has got to go.

Radar Online claims to have it on very good authority that, even if Universal asked Sanders back to direct the sequel, his wife, the one he cheated on with his leading lady Kristen, would hear none of it.

In fact, she more or less “ordered” him to stay away from Stewart, even if that means saying no to the sequel.

“Liberty let it be known in no uncertain terms that Rupert can’t direct the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman. They are trying to work things out after he was caught having an affair, and that is one of the sticking points,” says a source.

“She just doesn’t want him to ever work with Kristen again. Rupert is obviously disappointed because Snow White and the Huntsman was his directorial debut, and he had hoped on building on that with a follow-up after some decent reviews,” adds the tipster.

Indeed, it was precisely this that put his name on the map: for a newbie director, he did a pretty good job with the film, critics said at the time, heralding a brilliant career for him if he kept it up.

Admittedly, Sanders has already agreed to his wife's terms.

“He knows his actions were inexcusable, and he’s going to have to bite the bullet and listen to his wife on this one. Also, when Rupert signed up for Snow White and the Huntsman, he didn’t know he was going to get a chance to direct a sequel,” the same source explains.

“His contract with Universal was only for one movie. It was a verbal agreement that he was to take the reigns on the sequel, nothing was ever signed. Kristen, as the film’s lead, will get preference over Rupert and Universal will just find another director,” the tipster adds.
