Those who have been looking for a solution to wirelessly stream music from their computer to their hi-fi and audio-dock, with the iPhone plugged into their hi-fi acting as an audio receiver, can now do so using the WiFi2HiFi iOS application from Clever & Son.

Approved by Apple earlier today, WiFi2HiFi turns your iPhone into a wireless audio receiver for your stereo system or sound-dock.

Combined with the free desktop app WiFi2HiFi Station, users can listen to whatever audio program is playing on their computer, according to Clever & Son.

“Stumbling prone cables connecting the computer and the hi-fi will be superfluous,” the company states. “Any web radio or song on the hard disc can be enjoyed form the comfort of the couch.”

Weighing on the functionality of their solution, Clever & Son reveal that any audio program from music players to streaming media can be played.

The WiFi2HiFi Station automatically detects when an iPhone is in the same WLAN, while the music stream, whether from online radio or from the user’s hard drive, can be plugged into the docking station or headphones directly.

“Control it with a simple click of your mouse or with any remote app on the iPhone,” says Clever & Son.

"The WiFi2HiFi application brings a world of music from your computer to your living room negating the need for an expensive audio streaming box." said Tobias Gemperli of Clever & Son AG. "Inspire yourself with music through WiFi2HiFi."

The WiFi2HiFi app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 3.0 or later.

On the computer side, customers need Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, or Windows Vista / Windows 7 installed, as well as a WLAN or ad-hoc network.
