South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has reportedly announced official plans to make the Wi-Fi-only Galaxy Tab available for purchase in Germany starting with the next month.

The original Samsung Galaxy Tab was already launched on the German market, with both 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity options on board, and it seems that Samsung is set to make the second 3G-less variant of the tablet PC available for users in the country too.

Although it does not feature cellular connectivity options, the tablet PC would retain the same form factor and the rest of the capabilities that made Galaxy Tab a popular device.

The Wi-Fi-only Galaxy Tab tablet sports a 7-inch touchscreen display, and runs under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.

The specifications list of this device would also include a 1GHz Hummingbird application processor from Samsung, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options.

Moreover, the tablet PC sports dual cameras, with a front-facing camera meant for enabling video calling, as well as a microSD card slot for additional storage space. A 4000mAh battery powers the Wi-Fi-only Galaxy Tab.

Courtesy of its Android 2.2 OS, the tablet PC offers support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1, which provides users with an enhanced web browsing experience. Samsung also packed the device with features like Readers Hub or Social Hub.

At the same time, the tablet PC will provide support for Google Mobile services, including Gmail, YouTube, Search or Maps, as well as for various applications available for download via the Android Market.

The Wi-Fi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab is expected to feature a price tag of 499 Euros when put on sale in Germany in March.

As Samsung Hub notes in a recent article, the Wi-Fi-only version of the device might not end up being cheaper than the 3G-enabled flavor, which is currently available for purchase at Amazon for 496 Euros.
