The new “Ghostbusters” film that will reboot the franchise will not be a reboot in the basic understanding of the word, because director / writer Paul Feig is changing things up a bit: he’s making the leading characters female and the most popular supporting one male.

The Ghostbusters will be all women, with the film dubbed an action comedy with no dark streak to it. Apparently, Sony Pictures is thinking of going down the dark route with an all-male action pic to be made if this first one is successful.

Now, the team has their receptionist and he just so happens to be very good at communicating with beings from a different dimension, if need be: he is Chris Hemsworth, famous for playing God of Thunder Thor in Marvel’s Avenger movies.

In the original, the role of the receptionist was played by Annie Potts.

“Ghostbusters” is slated for a July 22, 2016 release, and will star funny girls Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Obviously, Hemsworth’s role will be a small one, but even so, I think it’s safe to expect at least one joke about how good he looks without his shirt on. Because you know he does.
