Better organized and choreographed flash mobs have been done before, but that doesn't mean this one isn't worthy of our time. Fans in San Francisco came together the other day to honor Whitney Houston.

They gathered in Castro Street, where their number immediately increased, as passers-by joined them for what looked like an improvised routine.

Dancing their way to “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” one of Whitney's biggest hits, the fans might not have had the routine down to a T – but at least they had fun, while also paying their respects to their idol.

At the end of the clip, many of them can be heard yelling, “We love you, Whitney!”

In the end, that's all that matters, fans who defend this flash mob from criticism that it wasn't good enough because of the dancing: Whitney brought together people of all ages, and it's touching to see them pay respect to her.

Check it out.
