Nokia Lumia 800, the first smartphone from the Finnish handset vendor to run under Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system, is expected to arrive on shelves all dressed up in white in the not-too-distant future.

The handset was unveiled to the world in October last year in black, cyan and magenta, but it seems that Nokia is preparing the release of more colored flavors of the mobile phone.

There have been rumors on some of these new Nokia Lumia 800 versions, but nothing was officially confirmed on them for the time being.

However, Nokia's software for browsing firmware releases is now reportedly showing software being prepared for the white flavor of the device.

Although this is not a proper launch, it can be seen as good as a formal word from Nokia regarding the upcoming availability of a white dressed Lumia 800.

The Windows Phone smartphone was designed on the same body as the MeeGo-based Nokia N9 smartphone, which makes it simple for Nokia to release the same color flavors of both of them.

And since the white Nokia N9 is already available on shelves, it should not be too long at all before the white version of Nokia Lumia 800 is also made available.

However, since the company did not announce specifics on the matter, we should patiently wait for an official unveiling to learn more on when the white Lumia 800 could be released.

One thing that is certain, however, is that the device could sport the same features and capabilities as the original Windows Phone device.

This includes the 3.7-inch touchscreen display, along with a fast 1.4GHz application processor inside, and 16GB of internal storage.

The handset also comes with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for HD video recording. WiFi, 3G and Bluetooth connectivity was also packed inside this device, along with a built-in GPS receiver.
