If you’re on the lookout for a discount on your next Mac purchase and don’t mind buying a discontinued MacBook model, perhaps it is high time you paid the Apple store a visit, because there’s a shiny White polycarbonate MacBook just waiting for its future owner.

Originally released May 2010, the White MacBook you see pictured to the left is a discontinued model.

This shouldn’t affect your purchase knowing that there are many older Macintosh that haven’t been discontinued, and they’re not as attractive and as historical as this one either.

The White MacBook has been a Apple’s most popular Mac for many years in a row, but as the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air lines began to grow in popularity, the system slowly became irrelevant to sell.

It’s just as powerful as a current-generation MacBook Air (if not more powerful), and it sells for less. So here’s the deal:

For $849 Apple will send you a refurbished MacBook with a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a 13.3-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen display, 2GB (2 x 1GB) of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM, 250GB Serial ATA @ 5400 rpm, an 8x double-layer SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW), NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory, and a the ever-present built-in iSight cam.

If you’re not into old systems, you can choose this $899 MacBook Air refurb (originally shipped in October 2010) with a 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, 11.6 inches of LED-backlit glossy widescreen display goodness,  2GB memory, 128GB flash storage, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics, and a FaceTime camera.

For those seeking a server solution that doesn’t sell for much, yet does support the latest Mac OS and has plenty of RAM and storage to boot, a refurbished Mac mini with Snow Leopard Server can be yours now for just $749 (saves you $250).

Originally released June 2010, this Mac mini model features a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB memory, dual 500GB Serial ATA hard disk drives (for a total 1TB of storage), a HDMI port with support for up to 1920-by-1200 resolution, and NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics with 256MB memory.
