T-Mobile USA launched the white-themed Samsung Galaxy S II back in December, but customers were only able to purchase the smartphone online.

Today, the folks over at TmoNews have just learned that white Galaxy S II units have started to arrive at T-Mobile USA retail locations.

The smartphone is available for the same price as the black version, so customers who want to purchase it will have to come up $599.99 USD (455 Euro) upfront.

Those who are willing to commit to a long-term contract can grab the white Galaxy S II for only $229.99 USD (175 Euro) and sign up for a new two-year agreement.

According to Samsung, “the Galaxy S II offers our largest and most beautiful screen in a slim device, and with 4G speeds, it delivers one of the fastest entertainment experiences running on America’s Largest 4G Network.”

Unlike the standard Samsung Galaxy S II, T-Mobile USA’s own branded Galaxy S II features an enhanced hardware configuration, such as display, processor and battery.

Also known as Samsung T989, the Galaxy S II from T-Mobile has a large 4.52-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that, sadly, supports only 480 x 800 pixels resolution. The good news is that the display features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

On the inside, the phone packs a powerful 1.5GHz dual-core processor manufactured by Qualcomm, 16GB of internal memory, 1 GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The original Galaxy S II is powered by a 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery, but T-Mobile’s variant embeds a much better 1850 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 167 hours of standby time or up to 7 hours of talk time.

Software-wise, T-Mobile Galaxy S II in white runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system with the latest TouchWiz 4.0 user interface on top.
