Canadian carrier Koodo added RIM's BlackBerry Curve 3G smartphone to its portfolio in March 2011 for $300, but the device is now available for only $250 off-contract.

According to the guys over at MobileSyrup, Koodo plans to release a white variant of the BlackBerry Curve 3G in the near future.

The white 3G BlackBerry Curve has the same features as the original black version and is likely to cost the same as the latter.

Koodo Mobile is known for offering its devices with the Tab, which lets customers choose the level of subsidy they want to benefit from and avoid being tied by a long-term contract.

Basically, the carrier allows customers to take up to $150 off from the cost of Curve 3G and put it on their Tab, thus paying just $100 for the phone.

Every month the carrier puts 10% of the customer’s bill towards the Tab until the entire value is paid off.

Furthermore, Koodo Mobile continues to add 10% of the bill to the Tab even after this is paid off, but customers will be able to use it to buy another mobile phone.

Obviously, the procedure can be canceled anytime without any additional charges, as long as the initial Tab value is paid off.

The white BlackBerry Curve 3G comes with a 2.46-inch TFT LCD display with 65k colors support, 240 x 320 pixels resolution and touch-sensitive optical trackpad.

The smartphone runs on the Blackberry 5 platform, but it is upgradable to Blackberry OS 6. It sports a sub-par 2.0-megapixel camera with 5x digital zoom and video capture capabilities.

Other key features of the smartphone include: Wi–Fi-ready (802.11 b/g) connectivity, GPS with A-GPS support, 512MB Flash Memory, 512MB RAM memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, full QWERTY keyboard, 3.5 mm audio jack.

The phone's 1150 mAh Li-Ion battery is rated by the carrier for up to 4 hours and 30 minutes of talk time or 252 hours of standby.
