You can make your life mate fall in love with you big time with just? a smile! For Hollywood stars, the smile is an essential part of their C.V. Awful smile and teeth are not only unpleasant, but also indicators of physical and mental problems.

A new research published in the journal Dental Clinics of North America went on the search for the formula of the perfect smile, considering several factors, like the teeth size, curve, color and shape and the overall size of the mouth.

The research team found that a big mistake is an excessive white brightness of the teeth. The whiteness of the teeth has to fit that of the eyes, so that the smile will not eclipse the eyes. "One of the first things about a smile people notice is the color. People are bleaching their teeth and many times they do it beyond what is natural. The teeth should be the same color as the whites of your eyes. If the teeth are too white, they become more dominant than the eyes", said lead researcher Dr. Nicholas Davis, of Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in Southern California.

The encountered mathematical ratio formula is related to the teeth proportions. The best width of a smile should overcome half of the face width and both upper and lower lips should display symmetry from each side of the facial mid-line. Most of the uncovered teeth must be from the upper row, and very little revealed from the bottom row. The teeth displayed should be straight, without presenting visible signs of restoration.

The size of the teeth should diminish from front to back. The lateral (incisor) teeth on either side of the central (incisor) teeth should be 61.8 % of the size of the big central teeth and the next teeth (canines) should be 61.8 % of the laterals. The width of the central teeth must represent 80 % of their height.

The researchers also warn about that disgusting "horse smile": the person in front must see no more than 2 mm of the gums.
