comScore.com released its numbers about which Google service has noted the highest growth and despite the fact that, by far, the most used are Gmail and Google Maps, each going head to head every month in the interval measured, Nov 2006 - Nov 2007, the best performer was? iGoogle?

The personalized start page had a 267.64 percent growth compared to last year and that was astoundingly five times as great as the next service ranked, Google Book Search, that had 54.66 percent.

But back to the two mentioned in the title, Gmail and Google Maps. The former upped its percentages by 53.6, while the latter came close with "only" 51.57 points in percentages. They both have almost the same number of unique visitors, around 90 million and because of that Google should consider using their popularity to push forward some other apps that would feed off of them. It's interesting to see that the numbers show the navigational bar hosting the top five most popular almost in their ranking order: first comes the Web search, then comes the Images search, the Maps and the News, ranked fourth and fifth overlap third position holder Gmail.

The Shopping link has recently been added in order to raise its popularity, but so far the traffic it is receiving is negligible, according to comScore.com. In fact the usage of "Shopping" comes as a direct result of the low traffic recorded by the "Product Search" name given to the service by Google. Froogle, the name before that, got much more people to click it, so I guess it's related to the exotic ring to it or to the exact description of the service, like they did with others and now with the Shopping.

The worst performers from Google were, as mentioned, the Google Product Search, plummeting to the depths of -73.26 percent compared to the previous year, followed by Google's Scholar search with 32.14 percent and Google Video search with 11.82 percent.
