This year or, maybe, the next one?

Inquirer has stirred a sensation on the Internet announcing that the next beta of Windows Vista, known as Beta 2, could appear at best in November.

This Beta 2 was announced by Microsoft as a part of the Windows Vista's launching strategy, the OS being scheduled (as if you didn't know) for the end of 2006.

Windows Vista Beta 1 appeared at the end of July, but it didn't contain all the features promised by Microsoft. Beta 2 should be completely different, this version being expected to offer more insights on what Microsoft has in mind for the new OS.

Although there have been a lot of new information on Windows Vista, Microsoft hasn't confirmed an official release date for this Beta 2.

As a response to Inquirer's speculations, Bink.nu, a site specialized in Windows, said that Windows Vista Beta 2 is due for launch in December.

In our opinion, considering that Xbox 360 is due for launch in November, it's unlikely that Microsoft will also introduce the Beta 2 of Windows Vista. We estimate that the end of January or the beginning of February is a more probable release date.

After the Beta 2, at least two other RCs are expected, so we should have the final release in October or November 2006.

This week, Softpedia would like to know your opinion on gaming consoles. What is your favorite console you either own or you are planning to buy? Are you an Xbox fan or a Playstation fan? Has Xbox360 convinced you it's time to buy one? Or you'll wait for the PS3? Express your opinion here.
