Microsoft will be holding a Windows 10 event that will be primarily focused on the consumer experience in the new operating system, with the company expected not only to reveal some new details about its work but also to talk more about how some of its other products would be affected by this new rollout.

There is no doubt that the Windows 10 event will be really important for users and companies worldwide, especially because the new OS is said to revamp the way they work on both desktops and tablets, so Microsoft clearly needs to play its cards right this time.

Even though the company has remained tightlipped until now, there still are some details regarding this event, so below you’ll find the hottest topics that Microsoft could discuss next week.

New Windows 10 build and more features

Microsoft will most likely present a new Windows 10 Technical Preview build at the conference, and shortly after this event comes to an end, the company might ship it to Windows Insiders as well.

Expected to be called Windows January Technical Preview, the new build is very likely to bring some new improvements on the desktop, including more good-looking context menus, as well as a testing version of Cortana, and possibly dark and light themes plus new icons.

Windows Phone 10 Preview

In addition to improvements aimed at the desktop, Microsoft is also planning to discuss Windows 10 plans for smartphones, so the company is also very likely to present an early build of Windows Phone 10 Preview.

Again, shortly after the conference, Microsoft could release the early tidbits of the mobile operating system for everyone, so those with a Windows Phone can try out the new operating system in its very early stages of development.

Spartan browser

In addition to new features and a fresh Windows 10 Technical Preview build, Microsoft will also present Spartan, its new browser that will at first be offered alongside Internet Explorer and which at some point in the future could replace it completely.

Spartan is a completely new browser that will look more like Chrome and Firefox and will help Microsoft fight the negative perception of Internet Explorer. It’s going to replace the Modern version of IE as well, so it’ll be available across the entire operating system.
